After a successful career in sales, she decided to retrain as a teacher in order to share her passion for language learning with students. His philosophy and outlook on education is that the aim of education is to develop the individual as a fully rounded person with academic, social, personal and emotional skills. Without skills in these four areas the individual will fail to reach their full potential in life and that person’s teachers will have failed to provide them with an adequate education. As teachers, we teach these life skills by being aware of eachindividual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses and react to them accordingly when we teach. Every teacher also needs to be aware that a person’s education is an ongoing process that continues throughout a person’s life and does not simply end when they leave school or a formal education. We as teachers are still learning, not just teaching skills but life skills also and we should never think that we cannot improve ourselves as teachers. Amazing learning for Gary is building rapport with his students, motivating them to love learning and helping them become global citizens.
In conclusion, I would say that Gary is an experienced highly motivated teacher who thoroughly enjoys teaching. Originally from India, Mita Singh has more than 17 years of experience in education. Since 2004, she has been teaching Secondary Mathematics in Mumbai, in addition to being the head of Examinations and Timetables in an ICSE school. In 2015, she moved to Dubai to work for GEMS Education as the Head of Mathematics at The Winchester School, Jebel Ali, where she taught IGCSEs and A levels (British Curriculum).
It is the beauty of Mathematics, its logic, and its applications, combined with teaching students, helping them to gain higher knowledge, and to ignite the scientific fire, that is the greatest reward for her. Personally, she updates herself with the latest teaching methodology to enhance a growth mindset in the classroom. Her ambition has always been to make a sound difference in shaping the lives of young students, inspiring and mentoring them to become the best versions that they can be.
Collaborative learning, advancing a holistic curriculum, and, most crucially, boosting students' confidence in mathematics—especially those who struggle with the subject—are among Mita's educational priorities. Teaching goes beyond subject knowledge, and the satisfaction that it provides goes beyond words. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
