Early Years Foundation Stage - Kindergarten Kota Damansara
Laying the
Foundations of
Learning
Early Years education forms the cornerstone upon which young children establish the groundwork for their future schooling.
Educators must offer a blend of child-initiated and adult-guided activities that spark children's innate curiosity, fostering a conducive and secure learning atmosphere. Improvements should be implemented to incite fascination and engagement.
Children ought to have chances to investigate and comprehend the world through sensory exploration and firsthand encounters. The curriculum integrates the British Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum alongside Sri KDU International School, Kota Damansara Education's Core Values and customized programs. This approach enables children to expand their thoughts, develop concepts, and reinforce skills.
Our Early Years Curriculum emphasises the seven areas of learning:
Physical Development
Communication and Language
Literacy
Mathematics
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Expressive Arts and Design
Understanding of the World
Principles of Effective Learning
We closely monitor children’s engagement with the characteristics of effective learning. These principles focus not only on what children learn but the way in which they engage with others and the environment through:
01
Play And Exploring
02
Active Learning
03
Creating and Thinking Critically
Empowering Young Learners
The school closely monitors the children's engagement with the principles of effective learning, which focus on both what they learn and how they engage with others and the environment. The goal is to empower children to be independent, resilient, confident learners who can reflect on their decisions, demonstrate tenacity, and express themselves confidently. This is achieved through active learning, playing, exploring, and scaffolding by practitioners.
Our Aims
01
We aim to create a stimulating and safe learning environment which inspires a child’s innate curiosity to explore and learn.
02
We utilise child-centred practises which personalise the curriculum to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
03
At Sri KDU International School, Kota Damansara we set solid foundations and reach the best possible outcomes for all children on their individual flightpaths into education.
04
We strive to provide the highest possible standards of education in a holistic way and ignite a lifelong love of learning.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
