Benjamin Green is an accomplished international education leader with over 25 years of experience spanning three continents. This encompasses senior leadership roles across Africa, consistently delivering excellence in complex multicultural environments.
He holds an Executive MBA from Hult International Business School, complemented by a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), a PGCE from Oxford University and a BSc Honours in Biology from University of Bristol, UK. These leave him well placed to meet the needs of international schools operating in competitive global markets.
His leadership philosophy centres on creating inclusive educational environments where all students thrive in a respectful and culturally sensitive learning community. His core competencies encompass professional school leadership, IB and Cambridge curriculum expertise, deep understanding of business support functions, and international university admissions counselling.
As Founding Head of an IB/CIE (International Baccalaureate/Cambridge) school, he understands the value of creating institutions founded on strong values and clear ways of working for all members of the school community from parents through teaching faculty to students. With experience of strategic leadership to secure Cambridge and IB Diploma Programme authorization, and the establishment of innovative SEND and STEM learning centres, the ongoing membership of FOBISIA and future proposed partnerships is in good hands.
He is looking to bring international endorsement of the strong and wide-ranging education offering Sri KDU is known for. In addition, he is looking forward to championing the reduction of the school’s environmental impact, building the student leadership education programme and pushing a greater emphasis on learning outside the classroom. The school already has an exciting programme of music, performing arts and sports, the next step in the vision is to enhance the residential and overseas educational opportunities to ensure the Sri KDU community has a positive effect on the world around us.
Outside work, he is looking forward to exploring Malaysia and the wider region, with his family, and hopes to complete his first Asian marathon during next term.
With 20 years of experience in education, Mr. Lord has held senior leadership roles in high-performing schools across the United Kingdom, including serving as Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for both curriculum and pastoral development. He later took on the role of Head of School at an international school in Malaysia. Richard holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management in Education for Learning (2014) and completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2018. He is also recognised as a Specialist Leader of Education by the UK’s National College for Teaching and Leadership and has supported teachers and senior leaders across a wide range of UK schools. Mr. Lord teaches Design & Technology, Computer Science and ICT.
Mr. Lord is committed to making a meaningful contribution to the continued success of Sri KDU International School. He maintains consistently high expectations for students and is deeply dedicated to delivering the highest standards of education. He values not only academic excellence, but also the development of character, believing that young people should be prepared to make a positive and lasting impact on society.
Although a senior leader, Mr. Lord considers himself first and foremost a teacher. He is looking forward to being in the classroom, working with students, contributing to the CCA programme, and supporting their wider learning experience.
Mr. Lord, his wife, and two children have lived in Malaysia for four years and are all excited to join the SRI KDU school community. Mr. Lord’s dedication to providing students with enriching and meaningful co-curricular activities stems from his own broad array of interests and pursuits. He studies Brazilian Portuguese and, while committed to academic endeavours like language learning, equally values physical challenges. He has attained assistant-instructor grades in both Wing Chun Kung Fu and Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Additionally, he is a certified PADI Divemaster, having completed over 150
Ms Leuty brings over 15 years of international teaching experience to our school, having worked across primary and early years classrooms worldwide. With a deep understanding of the vital partnership between home and school, Ms. Leuty is dedicated to fostering a productive and enjoyable learning environment for students. She is committed to ensuring that children not only thrive during their primary years but are also well-prepared for their transition to secondary education.
Currently serving as the Head of International Primary in Sri KDU, this is Ms. Leuty’s second headship role in an international setting. Her leadership experience reflects her commitment to enhancing educational standards and supporting both students and staff in achieving their goals. Ms. Leuty has a proven track record of creating effective learning environments and is skilled in guiding schools through the complexities of a diverse educational landscape.
Ms Connolly has vast experience in teaching both in the United Kingdom (UK) and internationally. She holds a BA Honours in English Language and Literature, MA with Distinction in Education, and the National Professional Qualification of Senior Leadership. Ms Connolly started her teaching career in 1996 as an English teacher. After working in secondary schools in the UK and Russia and having the added responsibility of Head of Psychology while teaching in an OFSTED outstanding school in the UK, she then decided to further her professional career and gain experience in international education by joining a well-established international school in Bangkok in 2009 as a teacher of English Language and Literature, where after a year she was promoted to Head of English. Ms Connolly joined Sri KDU International School in August 2021 as Deputy Head of Secondary with direct responsibility for the academic programme in the secondary school, including teaching and learning, student achievement and progress, teacher training and professional development, while also teaching English at Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IBDP level. In the following year, Ms Connolly took up a new role of Head of Secondary at Sri KDU International School.
Ms Connolly firmly believes that every student, irrespective of their ability, language proficiency level or background, can achieve their full potential if they are safe and happy, and are given the right opportunities and support, therefore, she feels very passionate about creating a family-like and inclusive educational environment that supports all students in their personal and educational development, helping them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
In her leisure time, Ms Connolly enjoys reading world literature along with travelling and absorbing the rich and varied cultural experiences that both Malaysia and Southeast Asia have to offer.
Meet Jolani, a dynamic educator with a flair for creativity and a passion for teaching! Originally from South Africa, she kickstarted her career in the arts, earning a degree in Performing Arts Technology and Stage Design from the Tshwane University of Technology. However, her love for nurturing young minds led her to pursue a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sunderland.Jolani sees herself as a caring, passionate, and driven facilitator of education, dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to quality education. With over 14 years of experience in education, she believes in the power of personalized learning, understanding that teaching and learning styles are as unique as the individuals themselves. Embracing the diversity of each classroom, she fosters an environment where every student can thrive.Her teaching journey has taken her across the globe, from Oman to Kuwait and even more recently Malaysia, where her skills were focused on Early Years education. With six years of experience as the Head of Infants (KG-Year 2) and previously filling key roles such as Primary Literacy Coordinator and Acting Associate Deputy Principal for KS1, she's a seasoned pro in cultivating engaging learning environments.She is excited to start her journey as a member of the Sri KDU family. She moves to KL with her husband and two children, who will also be joining Sri KDU. When she's not inspiring young minds, you can find her reading fiction stories and enjoying the tropical weather and breathtaking thunderstorms that Malaysia has to offer!
Ms Slawson has been living and working in Malaysia for more than ten years and has worked at Sri KDU International School since 2020. She has developed and delivered the Drama curriculum and has led and supported a number of school productions. She has also facilitated student participation in expert-led workshops delivered by both Malaysian and UK-based theatre practitioners.Through her teaching of Drama, Ms Slawson is passionate about developing the crucial life skills required for success, including quick thinking, negotiation, teamwork, verbal and non-verbal communication, and empathy. Lauren has experience working with both children and adults for whom English is not their first language. She is committed to supporting learners who require additional support with English as a second language and believes that providing a safe and supportive space for students to develop their language skills is critical to their wider academic success.As a pastoral leader, Ms Slawson is committed to promoting the wellbeing of students. She is a strong believer in developing a growth mindset, which she firmly encourages amongst her students through restorative practices and reflection. She believes that mistakes are an essential part of learning and that students should be supported to reflect, learn from their experiences and develop the resilience to move forward. She is passionate about equipping students with the skills, confidence and adaptability they need to navigate an ever-changing world and to future-proof themselves for life beyond school. Above all, she believes that every student has the right to feel safe, heard and seen.Outside of school, Lauren enjoys going to the theatre, is a regular Body Combat participant and is partial to baking a chocolate brownie or two! She also enjoys travelling and can often be found exploring the many cities, towns and beaches of Malaysia and beyond.
Originally from India, Mita Singh has more than 17 years of experience in education. Since 2004, she has been teaching Secondary Mathematics in Mumbai, in addition to being the head of Examinations and Timetables in an ICSE school. In 2015, she moved to Dubai to work for GEMS Education as the Head of Mathematics at The Winchester School, Jebel Ali, where she taught IGCSEs and A levels (British Curriculum).It is the beauty of Mathematics, its logic, and its applications, combined with teaching students, helping them to gain higher knowledge, and to ignite the scientific fire, that is the greatest reward for her. Personally, she updates herself with the latest teaching methodology to enhance a growth mindset in the classroom. Her ambition has always been to make a sound difference in shaping the lives of young students, inspiring and mentoring them to become the best versions that they can be.Collaborative learning, advancing a holistic curriculum, and, most crucially, boosting students' confidence in mathematics—especially those who struggle with the subject—are among Mita's educational priorities. Teaching goes beyond subject knowledge, and the satisfaction that it provides goes beyond words. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
Ms Rahman is an Oxford-trained educational leader with over fifteen years of experience in international education since 2009, spanning UK higher education, UK secondary school teaching, UK school governance, and secondary education in Malaysia. She earned her PGCE in Secondary Science (Chemistry) at St Stephen’s House, University of Oxford, and has built a distinguished career grounded in academic leadership, curriculum development, university pathways, and strategic growth.With a strong foundation in Chemistry and the sciences, Ms Rahman is deeply passionate about inspiring students to cultivate curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. Throughout her career, she has championed high academic standards whilst nurturing students to become confident global citizens and future leaders across fields such as medicine, engineering, artificial intelligence, finance, and scientific research.As Founding Head of A-Level at Sri KDU Subang Jaya, Ms Rahman established and transformed the programme into a high-performing pre-university pathway recognised for academic excellence and outstanding student outcomes. Under her leadership, the programme integrated professional mentoring networks, industry partnerships, and internship opportunities, providing students with meaningful real-world exposure whilst strengthening university progression pathways both regionally and internationally.Beyond school leadership, Ms Rahman has contributed significantly to educational access and strategic development within the wider international education landscape. She co-founded Malaysia’s national Oxbridge Bubble Conference, an initiative dedicated to widening access to global higher education opportunities. She has also led Pre-University and Future Pathways programmes within XCL Education Malaysia, supporting students in navigating higher education, career development, and global opportunities. In addition, she collaborates with EqualEd to advance educational access and equity worldwide.A former debater at The Oxford Union, one of the world’s most renowned debating societies, Ms Rahman brings exceptional communication, advocacy, and strategic thinking to her leadership practice. She also serves as a Teacher Ambassador for Trinity College, University of Oxford, supporting outreach and engagement initiatives that encourage aspiring students to pursue ambitious academic pathways.Ms Rahman’s educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that education has the power to transform what young people believe is possible. She is committed to building ambitious, student-centred learning communities in which every learner is empowered to thrive academically, personally, and globally.Outside of work, Ms Rahman enjoys cooking and travel.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
