“Perfect freedom is as necessary to the health and vigor of commerce as it is to the health and vigor of citizenship.”

Our Aims
In the Commerce faculty we aim to embody the core principles of the school by encouraging students to think as leaders, reflect on their role in the global economy and develop the skills necessary to be able to turn an entrepreneurial vision into a reality. Commerce students are expected to be able to collaborate effectively and harness the power of teams to find creative solutions to contemporary business issues. Their findings must then be substantiated with a level of technical accuracy that can only be developed through perseverance and sustained attention to detail. Building Learning Power therefore plays a central role in Commerce and from day one our students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and approach real-world case studies in a professional way. Commerce therefore demands an intellectual maturity of its students as they engage with contemporary socio-economic issues that not only require superior analytical skills but also the ability to evaluate by making balanced and ethical judgments.
Our Curriculum
There are three IGCSE subjects represented in Commerce at Key Stage 4 including Business Studies, Economics and Accounting. Business Studies is a multi-faceted subject offering the broadest selection of topic areas in Commerce including: Marketing, Operations Management, Human Resources, Economics and Finance. Successful students in this subject are able to demonstrate higher-level analysis and evaluation skills as well as persuasive writing. They will also be required to reflect on the quality of their own learning and progress as a consequence of studying the importance of productivity, communication and motivation in the workplace. Economics consists of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics enabling students to develop detailed technical knowledge and analysis skills before applying these concepts to real world case studies and socio-economic phenomena at the international level. In this way, Economics is an edifying subject that requires students to exercise advanced critical thinking and logical reasoning to develop their own world view. In Accounting, students gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of businesses and have to demonstrate superior analytical skills in order to classify, interpret and summarise complex financial data and then communicate their findings in a meaningful way.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
