Primary Pastoral Care
Treating our students as individuals and caring for each of their needs is very important to staff in Sri KDU International Primary School. Staff pride themselves on communicating effectively and because of this, it makes no difference that children have a variety of specialist teachers as well as their classroom teacher; they are always in contact with an adult who knows and understands them.
One of the reasons for the 10 minutes registration time each day, is so that class teachers can ensure that they get an opportunity, outside of curriculum teaching, to build relationships with their class. We want our class teachers to have a special time in the day in which they can have time to get to know individuals and make sure they are ready for learning each day.
Teaching and learning in Sri KDU International Primary School is as much about building character as it is about academic success and there are many opportunities for us within the timetable to talk about good character and what this means.
Assemblies
Our assemblies are a wonderful time when we come together and solidify our Sri KDU International Primary School family values.
Every Friday there is an assembly in which we celebrate with those students and staff who have demonstrated ‘Building Learning Power’ capacities. We also use it as a chance to celebrate teachers who have been working hard and given above and beyond their role.
PSHLE
All students are taught PSHLE (Personal Social Health and Leadership Education) by their classroom teacher. PSHLE is an opportunity to develop students’ moral and global awareness as well as learning about bullying, e-safety and mental wellbeing. PSHLE helps even our youngest learners to understand how they can impact on the world around us and become the best possible version of themselves. It is an opportunity for teachers to provide learners with the foundations to understand how they can put our school vision into action and become "Building Future Leaders since 2003".
School Counsellor
We have a full-time well-qualified School Counsellor who provides emotional support to the students. The School Counsellor works with the students in Primary and Secondary in a range of age-appropriate ways and coordinates with the class teachers, when necessary. When a member of staff feels that a child may benefit from counselling, they will contact the parent and consult with the Primary Headteacher. There is a standardised referral form used by staff when referring students.
School Nurse
The School Nurse
- provides medical care in the Primary and Secondary schools throughout the school day.
- provides first aid treatment throughout the school day and during school events such as the Sports Day, Swimming Gala and Inter House Games.
- organises immunisation and vaccination through liaison with a local clinic at appropriate intervals.
- maintains medical records which are confidential and created when a student joins the school.
- administers and supervises medication.
Safeguarding
Sri KDU International School is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. We train all of our staff in Child Protection and ensure that during our induction into the school they are briefed on our Child Protection policy. There are Designated Safeguarding Leads in the school to whom any child protection concerns would be taken.

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
