Secondary Pastoral Care
Form Tutor
Students are allocated a tutor group when they enrol at Sri KDU International School and they remain in that group until they leave school. In KS3 students are taught many of their subjects in this group and therefore the bond among the students is strong. The tutors provide academic and pastoral support and guidance to the students; they teach the students PSHLE (Personal Social Health and Leadership Education) which develops the students’ moral and global awareness and provides them with the foundations to become Tomorrow’s Leaders, Here and Now. Heads of Year work with the tutors and co-ordinate individual support for the students
School Counsellor
We have a full-time well-qualified School Counsellor who provides support for emotional well-being and career guidance to the students. The Counsellor works with the students in Primary and Secondary in a range of age-appropriate ways and coordinates with the Heads of Year and Key Stage Directors when necessary.

School Nurse
The School Nurse:
- provides medical care in the Primary and Secondary schools
- provides first aid treatment throughout the school day and during school events such as the Sports Day, Swimming Gala and Inter House Games.
- organises immunisation and vaccinations through liaison with a local clinic at appropriate intervals.
- holds medical records which are confidential and created when a student joins the school. When necessary, the School Nurse should be informed of any updates to their child’s medical record.
- administers and supervises medication. Students who need to take medication should bring it to the School Nurse for safe-keeping during the school day.
Safeguarding
Sri KDU International School is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. We train all of our staff in Child Protection and ensure that during our induction into the school they are briefed on our Child Protection policy. There are Designated Safeguarding Leads in the school to whom any child protection concerns would be taken.

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
